The Art of Caltagirone Ceramics

The ceramic centerpiece is created through three traditional firings:

First Firing — 1000°C: The hand-shaped clay is transformed into a strong ceramic body.

Second Firing — 940°C: The glaze and hand-painted decorations fuse with the ceramic, revealing the vivid colors and brilliance of Sicilian majolica.

Third Firing — 710°C: The pure gold luster is applied by hand and permanently bonded to the ceramic, creating its distinctive metallic reflections.
